Clive Vance DePriest (1933-1933)

Clive Vance DePriest was born the 12th day of March 1933 in Nortonville, Conejos, Colorado, United States. He was the sixth son and tenth child of Jesse Thomas DePriest and Freda Pearl Von Cannon. Clive lived his sweet little life in Nortonville, dying on the 9th of July 1933. He is buried in the Old Manassa Cemetery, Conejos, Colorado, United States [1]. His grave is in the DePriest Baby Section near his 3 elder brothers and 1 elder sister.

Clive's middle name was taken from his maternal grandmother's maiden name, Nancy Safronia Vance.  He was dearly loved by his family, especially by his eldest sister, Bessie. She was 14 years old when he was born and clearly remembered him all her life. She remembers him as being a sweet baby with blondish hair. She remembered that he had was starting to really smile a lot and that he had a cute little fanny with a bit of long blond hair on his tailbone. (She was assured by her mother that the hair would fall off and that lots of babies were born with fanny hair.) This made her laugh. She also remembered the day he died. She was unsure of the cause of death, and was not home when he passed. She remembered coming home and that he was just gone. She knew that he had died, though no one ever talked about it with her. She said she ran outside and climbed up on the rabbit hutches and cried her eyes out for her sweet baby brother. She said she sat there for hours trying to cope with her grief. Bessie talked about him until she died at the age of 93 and always got very emotional when talking about him. She was truly happy to know that families are forever and that she would see his cute smile again.
