In 1947, the song "Open the Door, Richard" by Jack McVea was #1 on music billboard charts. Young, Charlie Witten was almost 3 years old and loved to sing this song. When his new baby brother was born less than a year later, it was only natural for his parents to name the baby Richard. This sure made little Charlie happy![1]
