Beverly Ann Witten

Beverly Ann "Bev" Witten was born on the 13th of May 1942 in Alamosa, Colorado.  She was the first daughter and second child of Robert Dalton Witten and Bessie DePriest Witten.

Bev went to the La Jara School.  She graduated in 1960 and went to Adams State College.  She got her degree in education and played the trombone in the college band.  Bev worked at the Hamburger Inn (aka Pops'); this helped pay her way through college.  Bev was sure loved by her younger siblings, she was a second mother to them teaching them how to sew, crochet and often reading to them.  She did her student teaching at La Jara Elementary and even taught her younger brother, Randy

Bev moved from Colorado to Utah, teaching there for two years.  She then moved to California to teach at Edwards Air Force Base.  She met Robert Gabriel “Bob” Westberg in California at this time.  The two married in the Los Angeles Temple on the 16th of December 1967.

Bev mostly taught kindergarten and first grade.  Her career lasted twenty-seven years with a ten year stretch in between when she was raising her ten children, three daughters and seven sons. Bev is an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently serves with her husband as the Directors of their stake Family History Center.  She loves family history and has been working on it since she was 13 years old.  Her favorite times are spent with her family, especially her kids and grandkids.

Bev has resided in Lancaster, California with her husband for 45 years.  They have 32 grandchildren, so far….
