Margaret Ann DePriest was born on the 3rd of May 1939 in Alamosa, Alamosa, Colorado, United States. She was the fifth daughter and eleventh child born to Jesse Thomas DePriest and Freda "Pearl" Von Cannon. Margaret's family lived in Conejos, Colorado [1] until they moved to Alamosa County. It was in Alamosa County that Margaret spent most of her childhood.
Margaret joined the United States Air Force where she met her future husband, William Edgar "Bill" Lane on the 8th of January 1959. They had three children: Terry Jo Lane, Bruce Allen Lane and Gary Bryan Lane (1963-2012). The Lanes made their home in Ohio.
Margaret and Bill eventually divorced and Margaret moved to Farmington, San Juan, New Mexico. Margaret worked as a telephone operator for many years. She died in Los Lunas, Valencia County on the 19th of October 2007.
