Randal Thomas DePriest was born prematurely on the 28th of October 1914 in Manassa, Conejos, Colorado, United States. He was the third son and third child born to Jesse Thomas DePriest and Freda "Pearl" Von Cannon. Randal only lived a few hours dying the same day he was born [1]. Simeon A. Dunn gave him a blessing before his death [2]. He is buried in the Old Manassa Cemetery located in Conejos County [3]. His grave is in the DePriest Baby Section near his 3 brothers and 1 sister. Randal Thomas was named after his paternal grandfather, Thomas Walker DePriest. The name Randal could be a variant of the common DePriest family name, Randolph.
